Mobile II

“My dream, someone else’s nightmare?”

A mobile II came directly from my experience making A mobile I, where I learned the fundamentals of balance. With this knowledge, I explored how to break these laws of physics, which came easy as someone easily confused by the subject in the first place. Made from a collection of found organic objects, with bent brass, hooks, and a burned bamboo structure. By placing the individual elements at head height, I explore how this can transform each piece as well as the collective into something that transcends the found natural world.
